Ricky is a grade 12 student who was introduced to chess at the age of 5. Having developed a passion for the game, he went on to continue learning chess from various schools and playing in several tournaments.
In 2025, he completed his National Arbiter seminar and written examination, and has now stepped back from tournament chess to focus more on school, mathematicsand volunteer work. He has since then been a consistent arbiter and volunteer at the Toronto Chess Centre tournaments, taking it as an opportunity to strengthen workplace skills and gain experience as a chess arbiter.
