OVERVIEW

Welcome to Toronto Chess Centre’s classical-time-control Summer Tournament. This 5-round competition is open to players of all skills and ages. Participants will be divided into four open sections based on their rating (Crown, U2100, U1800, U1500), with 100% of entries returned as cash prizes in the Crown Section and non-cash prizes for lower sections. A junior-only section for kids U1200 has been added to accommodate our younger players. The games are FIDE rated in the top three sections and CFC rated in all five sections.

DEFAULT TIME

Players who do not show up within 30 minutes of the start of the round will be forfeited

Non-cash prizes for lower sections

ENTRY FEE

Early Bird (before May 18, 11:59 p.m.): $80

Regular Fee (after May 18): $100

On-site (space permitting, Round 1 bye likely): $110

BYES

Maximum of 2 half-point BYEs available during rounds 1-3

PLAY-UPS

You can only play up within a 100 points for $20 extra.

For example, if you’re 1400+ CFC, you can play up in the U1800 Section.

REFUNDS

  • $60 back if you notify us by June 1, 11:59 p.m.
  • $20 if you notify us by June 6 at 7:59 p.m.
  • No refund after June 6 at 8:00 p.m.
